I was on my knees for 28 minutes to propose Amal: Clooney

Los Angeles: "Tomorrowland" star George Clooney has revealed the 2014 proposal to wife Amal Clooney was "completely unexpected" by his human rights lawyer partner.

"When I asked her, you know, we'd never talked about it.... There wasn't like a, 'Maybe we should get married' [conversation]. I dropped it on her!," he said. The 54-year-old actor popped the question at home, and had even "cued up a playlist" of some of his aunt Rosemary Clooney's songs, reported E!Online.

"I asked her, and she just kept saying, 'Oh my, God,' and 'Wow,' and we just sat there," he said. "And finally, I just said, 'Listen, I'm 53 at the time, or 52 at the time, I think (he proposed prior to his birthday last year, so he was indeed 52). I said, 'I've been on my knee for about 28 minutes so I gotta get an answer out of this because I'm gonna throw a hip out!," he said.

"I might not be able to stand back up," he added jokingly.

Pitt is one of Clooney's favourite targets. The 54-year-old ‘Gravity’ star even said he thinks he could get arrested for the next prank.
"I'm doing one now that I can't tell you about, but in a year you are going to hear I've been arrested? I'm not kidding, because I think I've crossed the line," he told Graham Norton in an interview.

George Clooney won't play prank on wife

Los Angeles: Actor George Clooney is too scared of the consequences to play a prank on his wife Amal Alamuddin.

The 54-year-old is known for his love of practical jokes, but he'll not play any one of them on the 37-year-old lawyer, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Asked if he plays jokes on Alamuddin, Clooney told Entertainment Tonight: "Listen, she's a lawyer. I can get in trouble. She can do anything to me. I could be behind bars."

While there are no pranks in his marriage, Clooney insists he has a lot of "fun" with his wife.

“It's been pretty great. I'm very lucky, and I'm very happy and we have a really fun time.

"I'm very proud of the things that she does in the world and who she is, and she has a wonderful family and friends. It's been a really exciting, fun time," he said.

The couple got married in September last year in Venice.

The 54-year-old kept gushing about his wife on several occasions while promoting his new film, "Tomorrowland", reported Ace Showbiz.

"She's an amazing human being. And she's caring. And she also happens to be one of the smartest people I've ever met. And she's got a great sense of humour," Clooney said.

Commenting on her being a fashion icon, the star said, "It's amazing, because she's always - since the day I met her - she's always had this insanely ... It's eccentric but it's fun, sense of fashion."

The human rights attorney always looks stylish despite her abundant workload.

"How she does it while she's got 11 cases she's working on, and she was teaching at Columbia, and she's still like, 'I want to wear that dress.' It's crazy. It has been sort of fascinating to watch, because she has such great taste," he added.
