All eyes on acting, Kareena says no to designing, filmmaking

All eyes on acting, Kareena says no to designing, filmmaking

New Delhi: At a time when actors are exploring new arenas of the glamour industry -- be it fashion, production, direction or turning into a singer, actress Kareena Kapoor says she stays away from all such offers to focus on her passion -- acting.
"I have been offered to start my own fashion line, but right now I don't want to deviate from films as acting is my passion. And I don't think I can wear a producer's hat as there is a lot more that goes on than just adding your name.
"I don't think I have that kind of time or level to take that responsibility. Moreover, I'm not interested in any part of filmmaking apart from acting," Kareena, who is married to actor Saif Ali Khan said during her visit to the capital for the launch of Magnum ice-cream here.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is prepping up for Kabir Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Udta Punjab', a film on prevalent drug menace in Punjab.
'Udta Punjab' is being helmed by Abhishek Chaubey. Kareena said that though she strives to work with new people, the script is the deal-breaker for her.
"I love to work with new people. I'm working with directors that I have never worked with before -- whether it's Kabir or Abhishek or Rajkumar Gupta. They are people that I have never worked with in 15 years of my career.
"So I always try to work with new people, but according to the script that I like," she added.
Both the films are expected to treat cinema-lovers with a different storyline. In 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', Kareena will be seen with 'Dabangg' star Salman Khan, while in 'Udta Punjab' she stars alongside her former beau Shahid Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor in no hurry to tie the knot!

Ranbir Kapoor in no hurry to tie the knot!

Mumbai: A lot has been said and written about the relationship between Ranbir Kapoor andKatrina Kaif . The two, who have firmly remained tight-lipped about their relationship status, have often been under media scrutiny, for all obvious reasons. They are certainly Bollywood’s unofficial ‘it’ couple.
According to a leading daily, the Kapoor lad is in no hurry to enter matrimony with his ‘partner’ Katrina. The two are believed to be in a live-in relationship though.
Ranbir, 32, apparently is least perturbed by his 'age-clock'. He doesn't feel that time is running. He will only marry when he and his partner truly wish to formally exchange the rings and not because of any obligation.
So, for all those who are awaiting Ranbir’s wedding ceremony, you will have to wait longer for sure.

Shah Rukh Khan’s tribute to Raj Kapoor on his TV show

Shah Rukh Khan’s tribute to Raj Kapoor on his TV show

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan paid tribute to late actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor, popularly known as the ‘Showman’, on his reality TV show ‘India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun?’
Years back, Raj Kapoor narrated the life of a joker in a circus through his popular movie ‘Mera Naam Joker’, hinging on “The show must go on” notion.
It was when SRK saw one of the contestants from Delhi with a joker’s nose that he trailed back to the golden era of cinema, dominated by the likes of Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand.
The 'nose' reminded Shah Rukh of late Raj Kapoor’s iconic character from movie ‘Mera Naam Joker’, which released in 1970.
Shah Rukh, who has been tagged as 'Bollywood badshah' after carving a niche for himself in the industry with hits like ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and ‘Dil Se..’, also tried on a 'joker's nose'.
The ‘Happy New Year’ actor got nostalgic as he remembered the legend of Bollywood cinema.
Another interesting scoop is that the &TV channel show, which will premier on the small screen on Monday, has been shot in RK Studio.
Raj Kapoor was only 24 when he launched his own studio, RK Films, and became the youngest director of his time with ‘Aag’ in 1948.
He went on to taste success by producing, directing and acting in successful movies like ‘Barsaat’ (1949), ‘Awara’ (1951), ‘Shree 420’ (1955), ‘Chori Chori’ (1956).
One of his popular song ‘Pyar hua iqrar hua’ with a hat, jacket and a shirt with the legend standing under an umbrella with co-star Nargis, is still one of the most remembered song of the yesteryear cinema. In fact Shah Rukh created the magic of the moment in his movie ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ for the song ‘Phir milenge chalte chalte’.

Here's what she said, "What are you doing tomorrow night and with whom at home? Will you tell me? See this is not the place to talk about this, and either way because I love you guys so much, I will tell you that me hanging out with my friends is not a big deal. We joke, we have fun. He took the camera because they had already taken so many pics and he said, 'Give it to me. You want more pics, I will click it for you.' So that way."
